The weekend - Frank's fantasy

It was in the evening that the 7 convicts arrived together with a sergeant from the army. They were all sentenced to death penalty because of activities for the resistance. The execution was planned for the next day. The army promised that two soldiers would came to the site to assist the sergeant. The 7 convicts were in a cell together and the sergeant slept in the barracks. Early in the morning there was a call from the army that the soldiers couldn't come, because of extremely activities by the resistance throughout the country. The sergeant had to deal with the situation alone. Later, when the executions were over, a taxi would be send to pick the sergeant up to return to the city.
Gerard, the sergeant, had first to dig a grave to bury the bodies. Instead of doing it all by himself, he picked two "volunteers" to do it. He choose Bert and Jacob and ordered them to go outside of the cell, while continuous having a pistol pointing at them. Gerard had drawn the size of the grave in the sand. Two shovels were standing ready to be used. Bert asked him why to do it, because they would end up dead anyway. Gerard confirmed that the end would be the same, except that their dead would be very painful and slow if they didn't corporate. As some sort of preview he promised him to shoot bullets through his knees and elbow and then leave him hanging in a tree until he died, which could take a long time. So Bert and Jacob started digging until the grave was ready. The size was enough to have 4 men next to each other and the depth was enough to have two layers in it. As some sort of form of thank you the both men got a can of beer, which went down in a minute. All the time Gerard was watching out of reaching distance but close enough to shoot one or both men if they would do something stupid. After the grave was ready both men returned to the cell.

Now that everything was ready, Gerard went to the barrack to get the official documentation about the executions. Even though none of the guys was in front of a judge somebody found them guilty for their activities.
First he ordered Bert to come out. He kept pointing a gun at him. He ordered him to strip naked and stand in front of the grave. Then Gerard continued in reading the official conviction about Bert, containing his birth data and the charges brought up against him. Bert stood there before the grave, with his hands in front of him. The beer had him a little bit relaxed, but he was still shaking. The final question from Gerard was if Bert had something to say, which he hadn't. Gerard took his rifle, pointed at Bert and fired. Bert felt backwards in the grave. The sergeant placed the rifle on the ground, took his pistol and walked to the grave to see if Bert was dead, but he was moving a bit so Gerard shot a bullet from the pistol into Bert. He body shook and then he was dead. Legs spread and arms beside his body.
Next person to the called was Jacob. He was left out of the cell also and ordered to strip naked. After that the whole routine was repeated. In the end he fell into the grave. The sergeant checked the grave and saw him lying there nice with legs straight and arms next to him. But he already seemed dead, so the extra bullet was saved.
Frank was next. Within short time he was standing naked before the grave with his arms hanging next to his body. He checked before where there was a empty spot in the grave, so next to Jacob. By taking a look in the grave and seeing his friends there lying dead he started to shiver. Again the sergeant read the whole story before pointing the rifle. Frank closed his eyes. When the shot came he fell backwards in the grave. When Gerard checked the grave he saw him lying there with arms and legs spread, so right arm and leg hanging over Jacob. There was blood on his chest, near his heart.
The next convict was Anthony. He also came out of the cell and removed his clothes. He checked the grave also and saw Bert and Jacob lying there face up, with Frank lying on top of Jacob face down. So he stood for the next free spot, next to Jacob. He preferred not to land on any of the other guys. But as soon he turned his face in the direction of the sergeant, Frank rolled over to his original location. He had counted how much time the bullet would take from the rifle to the grave so he just guessed falling in the grave at the right time. And then he took some blood from Jacob's chest and put it on his. It seemed to work because Gerard didn't fire any bullets in his body. Now he had to make sure it would stay that way. His idea was to stay in the grave until the sergeant was out of sight. Hoping that Gerard was too lazy to cover the grave with sand by himself. But now it was Anthony's turn. After hearing the same story again finally the sergeant shot his rifle and Anthony fell into the grave. He fell right on top of Frank, just as Frank hoped for. Anthony landed forwards in the grave. Frank managed to slow the falling body down preventing too much damage on his body. But Anthony wasn't dead, so Frank had to whisper in his ear to act dead preventing getting shot. This was all in Frank's advantage, because a bullet might go through Anthony in his body. Right before Gerard was a the side of the grave Anthony relaxed a bit and acted dead also. Gerard looked in the grave, smiled about the situation and went to the cell for the next one.
Max was that one. When he got out of the cell he refused to strip naked. But after the thread of Gerard the same as his did to Bert and Jacob, Max decided to cooperate. He checked the grave also and decided to go for the second layer on top of Bert. After going to the same routine in the end he got hit also. Through the power of the bullet he tumbled and fell face down on top of Jacob. He wasn't dead either and looked to the right in the eyes of Anthony. Max lifted his head and was reaching for Anthony, whose hand were held by Frank. Then the sergeant came at the grave and saw Max moving. He fired one bullet in the back of Max and another in the head. That seemed enough to end the life of Max. But Anthony was scared by the bullets so he moved also, resulting in a bullet in his own head. He dropped dead on Frank, who was very scared to react without able to control it. But the bullet stayed inside of Anthony and Frank didn't move.
It was Rob's turn. He picked the empty spot on the grave. Frank took a look where Rob was staying so he moved his left leg and arm a bit preventing the weight of a grown man on them. But Rob fell in the end nicely backwards into the free spot and lucky for him he seemed to be dead right away. Frank brought his leg and arm in approx the same position as before to prevent trouble.
The last one was Paul. He had seen everything and was shaking very hard. He couldn't stand still for a second and he cried really hard. He picked the space above Rob. Apparently the sergeant seemed to be sorry for Paul because he skipped the whole circus and fired very quickly his shot. Paul fell backwards on top of Rob, but he wasn't dead. Gerard appeared at the grave and shot two bullets into Paul, preventing any more fear for the convict.

Then it was all over. As Frank thought so, Gerard didn't close the grave with sand. He decided to wait for the afternoon when the taxi would come. It was much better to do the job with two than alone, or even better was to do nothing and let others do the hard part.
Gerard went inside to make some coffee. Even though he knew the seven dead guys committed several crimes against the government, it wasn't an easy job. He had some liquor with him, so that was good to get the coffee away. While he was drinking there, Frank moved Anthony off his body and got out of the grave. Seeing his dead friends there made him very sad. Slowly he approached the barrack and he saw Gerard sleeping there in his chair. He came to him from behind. He had taken a t-shirt from the stack of clothes outside. He put it around Gerard's neck and strangled him until he passed out. Then he removed the clothes of the sergeant and dragged him into the grave and dropped him on top of Anthony. He fired several shots from the pistol until Gerard didn't move anymore.
Frank put on the sergeant clothes and waited for the taxi to pick him up. Frank didn't ask the driver to help him with the grave,  because he wanted to get out as soon as possible.

----
That was the end of Frank's fantasy.
All the guys got out of the grave and they laughed about the fun some of them had in there.
